Shihan Frank Williams, Kyoshi
8th Degree Black Belt

Shihan Williams currently volunteers his mentoring skills on Wednesday nights. He retired from active teaching in September 2004 upon his retirement from the US Marine Corps.

Martial Arts Experience and Credentials

- Began Tae Kwon Do training in 1971 under Mr. Pak.
- Began teaching Shorin Ryu in 1991 under Grand Master Fusei Kise in Okinawa, Japan.
- Lived and trained in various martial arts in Okinawa, Japan for a total of 13 years. .
- Founder of the Universal Martial Arts Association (1999).
- Member of the Board of Directors for the World Karate Union.
- Studied under Hanshi Akamine Yoshimatsu (Okinawa, Japan) in Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu and Hanshi Seifuku Nitta Okinawa Kensei Do-Ko Kai.
- Retired United States Marine Corps Chief Warrant Officer- 4.
- Certified United States Marine Corps Close Combat Instructor and Instructor Trainer under MSgt (Ret) Ron Donvito and Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor under GySgt (Ret) Leon Wright.

- Menkyo Kaiden awarded 27 September 2007 by Hanshi Seifuku Nitta.
- Kyoshi Title awarded 01 January 2007 Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo

- I began training in Shorin Ryu underGrand Master Fusei Kise in Okinawa Japan at age 4. I was promoted to Shodan Jr By GM Kise in 1999.
- I was awarded my Shodan in Shorin Ryu by Shihan Frank Williams in 2001.
- 2003 World Karate Union Hall of Fame Regional Competitor of the Year.
- 2005 American Martial Arts Alliance Hall of Fame inductee for Weapons Competitor of the Year.
- 2007 Inducted into the UMAA Hall of Fame as Fighter of the Year for Black Belts 18-34 Years old.
- Serve as the Chief Instructor at the Family Karate Center Camp Lejeune, NC (Tarawa Terrace Community Center)
